Agreement & Rules

  • Safer Sex

    Sexual health is invaluable

We invite you to talk openly about your sexual health status before sexual interactions. The easiest way to know your status is to regularly test yourself. There are several places in Europe where you can get tested for free

  • Consent

    Consent is key

Only a Hell Yeah is a Yes! Also, there are many different ways to say No: A Maybe or the absence of an explicit reply might be a No. Stay aware and focus not only on words but also on body language. More on this in the FAQs.

  • Play

    Free yourself & explore

The Parallel Universe is a place to dive into desires, dreams and longings. It is a place to explore different ways of connection, some of which may be sexual. However, it is not necessarily a swinger party or a giant orgy. There will be playfights, workshops, juggling, music, bondage, a campfire, sometimes costume-corners and places for all kinds of artistic interaction. We invite you to use what is offered and to bring your own toys and tools to play & dress up, paint & craft. Let yourself flow!

  • Covid-19

    Safety mesures
    • 1 m distance In- and Outside, Mouth-nose mask inside
    • Washing hands regularly, avoid touching your own face
    • No contact outside of existing pods (couples, lovers, polycules)
  • Confidentiality

    Trust is the basis

We want to create a safe space to explore our sexual desires and consciously push boundaries. This requires trust on all levels. Therefore we follow a no-photo-policy of other guests. Taking pictures of food and deco may be authorized on request.

  • Consent Violation

    how we deal with it

Consensual interaction is our core principle. We take this seriously and will ask individuals to leave if this principle is being violated. Consent Angels are at your service any time and will respectfully check in if necessary. More Infos in the F.A.Q

  • Soberness

    Play sober

We want to be fully aware when we get intimate – alcohol or other substances alter our state of consciousness. Let’s get high on our body’s endorphins and dance, play and love each other without clouding our experience!

  • Sustainability

    Unite for tomorrow

The Parallel Universe strives to be a sustainable event. We offer regional, vegetarian/vegan and organic food, we separate trash and recycle and encourage our guests to form car-pools or arrive by low-emission public transport.

  • Costumes

    Dress up & express

Unicorns, burlesque queens, clowns, heroes & heroines – welcome to the adult playground! Come as whoever you are or want to be. Bring your weirdest robe or put on your most unusual look!

Covid-19 Safety measures

We are strictly following all local laws around Covid-19 safety and distancing measures

WHATS NEW

We can’t create a Safe Space ( only SafeR) so please consider not to join the event if you see yourself at risk or if you are caring for people at risk. We do our best to create spaces where you can be fully at distance but please note that in case of rain it might get cosy inside our 4 Spaces (one big one outdoor). All possible Hygiene & Distance measures will be encouraged. We just want to be honest and transparent in this.  Please also note that due to the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation we will adapt our program to the current situation concerning the safety distance. The more close intimate interactions will just be allowed for people in the same pod & we will adapt our workshop so that everybody can experience some of  them without needing to take a risk. Please read the special conditions especially careful:https://theparalleluniverse.org/covid/

Update on new rules & regulations (stand 1st July 2020)

  • The government published another update on the Covid19-safety-regulations that contained some relaxations for events with fewer than 100 participants, especially if they are hosted by non-profit associations and for outdoor activities and sports.
  • As of 1st July, physical contact sport such as martial arts is allowed again. This allows us a broader range of workshops and programme. We will have a playfight workshop!
  • We decided to put up our beloved costume camp! Feel free to dress as you want, and spice up your outfit with party of our costume camp!
  • Food and drinks can now be provided with less strict regulations. So the Parallel Universe will have fresh handmade pizza from a wood oven and refreshments like homemade kombucha and lemonade, You are still invited to bring your own drinks and food if you prefer to!
  • Some intimate activities like cuddling, shibari,  and sexual intercourse are now allowed again, but only for humans in a privileged relationship state like officially sharing a household or being in a committed relationship
  • We are strictly following all local laws around Covid-19 safety and distancing measures

WHAT IS DIFFERENT DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

We are strictly following all local laws around Covid-19 safety and distancing measures

THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE ADAPTS TO CHANGE

We had to cancel all our planned events and festivals during the lockdown in the first half of 2020. With the pandemic being more under control and more relaxed safety regulations, we decided to make the experiment of trying a sex-positive event that adapts to the Covid19-safety-regulations. We want to try how we can live the philosophy of our the events in a completely different and somewhat challenging setting. Thank you for courage of being part of this unique experience!

We are longing to reconnect with the community and to get in predominantly non-physical contact. We will focus on self-love and workshops obeying the legally mandated distance. This event is an opportunity to slowly reconnect with our s+ community, to talk about desires, dreams and longings…

OUR POSSIBILITIES DURING THE PANDEMIC

What definitely changed during the Coronavirus pandemic is the range we can offer. During the pandemic we can only offer activities limited direct physical contact*: workshops, performances and the chance to distantly hang out with the community, a place in the nature and an art space. We can provide live music, (ecstatic) dance and whatever distant activities our creative minds can think of. Due to the new regulations as of 1st July we can have a playfight workshop and allow “soft” intimate acts like cuddling for couples, lovers, polycules, roommates and other existing close social relationships. Nonetheless, all kinds of sexual activities are strictly limited to self-love. What will definitely not be allowed for the event on 4th July is stay-overs, meaning we really have to close the doors at 23:00 in the evening.

LET’S CELEBRATE SEX-POSITIVITY IN DISTANCE

The Parallel Universe on 19&20 September will certainly be different and outstanding.  But it still is a unique playground and it doesn’t stop us from connecting with our desires and celebrating sex-positivity.

In times of COVID-19, safer sex must mean that we cannot encourage any kind of physical closeness in our workshops and our facilities between people how are not from the same  household or being in any kind of pre-existing committed relationship.

We believe in self-reliance and trust the people in their risk assessments – we provide wristbands with color-codes to make your own risk assessment visible.

Important note: We will close the doors after 15:45 pm. Make sure to arrive on time, otherwise you will not get in. The event will start with a mandatory workshop about consent, boundaries & risk assessment to get the COVID-19 regulations clear for everyone.

Despite all the difficulties, we are delighted to provide a space to reconnect, to see and talk to each other, have fun in workshops, engage in discussions and enjoy each other’s presence without physical contact. We see it as a chance to focus on the core principles of sex-positivity.

What is the Parallel Universe?

The Parallel Universe is a body- and sex-positive happening, an adult playground. We want to create a safe(r) space to express yourself and explore* your (otherwise maybe hidden) desires and longings. The Parallel Universe events are sober parties – we want to explore this universe without the distraction of any kind of substances. We want to provide a safe(r) space where people can connect with their inner child and play free from stereotypical and societal norms. We want to make the world more inclusive, more passionate, more playful and a bit sexier. Also, we want to bring topics around intimacy, diversity and safer sex into wider awareness.

*COVID-19 special: During COVID-19 we will follow the mandated safety measures. Therefore we will abstain from any kind of activities that include physical contact except from existing pods like couples, lovers, polycules, roommates, family can be close to each other but we ask you to not get sexual.)

SAFETY MEASURES

How do we create a safe(r) space?

We accept this challenge & focus on the fundamental principles of sex-positivity. We will approach the event a bit more theoretical and philosophical and we will also put a focus on self-love.

CONSENT, BOUNDARIES & SAFER SEX

Sex-positivity is a consent based attitude where sexual and sensual interaction with people around you can happen without shame. However, in times of physical distancing, we want to focus on the social & philosophical aspects of the movement. Let’s care for each other, let’s be extra mindful of each other’s boundaries & personal space and let’s respect everyone’s personal risk assessment & choices. In times of COVID-19, safer sex must mean that we will not encourage any kind of physical closeness in our workshops and our facilities.

More than ever, we encourage high self-responsibility, so please evaluate your own risk assessment in advance. For a start we encourage you to read the covid care article from Evelin Dacker. Become clear how physically close you are able and willing to be and be aware that legal boundaries make it necessary to keep a safety distance of 1 m at all events. Additionally, we will be wearing masks indoors. Outside, masks aren’t mandatory.

Before entering you will be provided with a colored wristband to mark your personal risk assessment. You are also invited to bring a blanket in the color matching your risk assessment. In order to create a safer space we will close the the doors after 4 pm and there will be a Consent & Risk Assessment workshop mandatory for everybody at the beginning.

For more information about the color codes and what is allowed and what is forbidden please check our FAQs – Covid-19 Special.

SAFER SEX CORONA GUIDE

In times of COVID-19, safer sex must mean that we will not encourage any kind of physical closeness in our workshops and our facilities. Sex-positivity is a consent based attitude where sexual and sensual interaction with people around you can take place without shame. We believe in self reliance and trust the people in their risk assessments.

For more information what is allowed and what is forbidden please check our FAQs – COVID-19 Special .

We are strictly following all local laws around Covid-19 safety and distancing measures

How does the corona virus transmit?

    • The virus can spread from an infected person within a distance of 1,50m by coughing or sneezing.
    • It can be transmitted through shared plastic or metal surfaces, but there is uncertainty how long the virus can live. Probably between 2 hours and 4 days.
    • By direct contact with saliva/mucus from someone who has it.
    • It has been found in faeces of people who are infected with the virus.
    • It hasn’t been found yet in semen or vaginal fluid.
    • Other coronaviruses do not efficiently transmit through intercourse.
    • There is still a lot to learn about the Coronavirus – this is our best available knowledge by May 2020. (Please scroll down for links and sources.)

In the spirit of harm reduction, we also want to give some extra safety measures if you still decide to meet people beyond the Parallel Universe. But please keep in mind that this is not allowed at the event! This benefits not only your safety, but also those of others and society in general.

Transmission risks while getting intimate

  • Kissing can easily pass SARS-CoV-2. Avoid kissing anyone who is not part of your small circle of close contacts.
  • Sucking fingers might spread SARS-CoV-2. We touch a lot of surfaces, and this is a highway for the virus.
  • Rimming (mouth on the anus) might spread SARS-CoV-2. Virus in faeces may enter your mouth.
  • Condoms and dental dams can reduce contact with saliva or faeces, especially during oral or anal sex.
  • Avoid sharing sheets, towels, … And wash them afterward.
  • Choose someone you live with: Having close contact – including sex – with only a small circle of people “pods” helps prevent further spreading of the Coronavirus. Communicate with each other about other interactions outside of this circle.
  • With multiple partners: Make good and acceptable agreements, and try to temporarily limit close contact to one.

Safer sex tools

In the spirit of harm reduction, we also want to give some extra safety measures if you still decide to meet people beyond your household/partner. But please keep in mind that this is not allowed at the event! This benefits not only your safety but also those of others and society in general.

    • Have good, clear and honest communication. Have a COVID-Care & STARS-Talk with your prospect date: how do they deal with social distancing and dating? Who do they live with? Who have they been around? Anyone within 3 degrees of separation who is at risk? Do they take it seriously? Make a Risk Assessment. Make good agreements that are fully understood by everyone and possible to follow. If possible, limit your outside close contact to only each other.
    • Keep the dates as short as possible. And postpone as long as possible.
    • Wear a facemask, and don’t touch your face or the mask. Try to not remove the facemask during the whole length of the encounter. Don’t kiss. Masks are scarce! So consider donating to care facilities & use a reusable cotton mask if possible. Wash them at 90°C
    • Take a bottle of hand sanitizer and use it. DO NOT USE SANITIZER ON YOUR GENITALS. USE IT to disinfect surfaces you’re using before and after. Wash your bodyparts (genitals, hands) very well before and after the sexual act.
    • Use mouthwash before and after, instead of brushing teeth. Brushing teeth can cause micro-fissures where infections can enter. Mouthwash helps with minimizing bacteria but does not specifically help prevent SARS-CoV-2.
    • Use a pair of latex gloves. Dispose of them correctly after use. Wash your hands before and after.
    • Use a(n internal) condom or dental dam. Use and dispose of it correctly.
    • Wash clothes when back home. Preferably on 60°C/140°F & use soap.
    • Get all kinky and play with onesies (which you wash afterward at 60°C/140°F), plastic wrap mummification, improvised gloryholes, Latex suits and other ‘sexy distancing’ games.
    • Washing up before and after sex is more important than ever.
      • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Longer is better.

Consider again to take a responsible decision and help ‘flatten the curve’
